Counseling On The Provision Of Additional Fermented Bran Feed To Increase The Body Weight Of Sheep (Case Study in the Karya Mandiri and Harapan Kita Group)

Caringin Village, Gegerbitug District, Sukabumi Regency has an area of 588 ha, agricultural land area of 262.7 ha, rice fields of 273.3 ha and a village of 52 ha with a population of 3,390 people. In addition, sheep commodities are the dominant small ruminant livestock with 273 heads. Sheep feeding is relatively low, making livestock productivity low. Bran waste from rice milling can be used as animal feed by the fermentation process. The purpose of the study is to analyze the level of knowledge, attitudes and skills of farmers in providing additional feed of fermented bran to sheep. Respondents were taken from the Karya Mandiri and Harapan Kita farmer groups with a total of 36 respondents. Data collection was carried out through a closed questionnaire. The analysis used was descriptive statistics and t-test. The analysis tool used by Microsoft excel and IBM SPSS Statistics ver. 25. The results of the study showed that there was a difference in the level of knowledge before and after counseling (sig. 0.000), the attitude of farmers towards the provision of additional feed of fermented bran was categorized as agreeable (66.39%) and the skill aspect was categorized as skilled (66.11%).
