Self-supporting agriculture extension can be an example and a good motivator for young farmers and young people to work in the agricultural sector. The existence of adequate work facilities can also ensure high work motivation. In the instructor, performance has not shown significant benefits in increasing farmers' income and welfare. This study aims to determine the characteristics and supporting factors of the performance of effective independent agriculture instructors. The analysis used is descriptive statistics with a number of respondents 106 self-help counselors using survey methods and structured interviews conducted by census. The results showed that the characteristics of independent agriculture instructors have a high level of contribution because it is reflected in its position in society, age, organizational experience and high altruism (empathy, care). While the supporting factors of the performance of independent agriculture instructors also have a high contribution to the regeneration of agricultural actors. The supporting factors of the performance of independent agriculture instructors can be improved if the extension materials are well prepared, modified with conformity to the current target conditions can be improved.
Penyuluh pertanian swadaya dapat menjadi contoh dan pemberi motivasi yang baik kepada petani muda dan pemuda untuk bekerja di sektor pertanian. Adanya fasilitas kerja yang memadai juga dapat menjamin adanya motivasi kerja yang tinggi Pada penyuluh, kinerjanya belum menunjukkan manfaat yang signifikan dalam peningkatan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik dan faktor pendukung kinerja penyuluh pertanian swadaya yang efektif. Analisis yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif dengan jumlah responden 106 orang penyuluh swadaya dengan menggunakan metode survey dan wawancara terstruktur yang dilakukan secara sensus. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa Karakteristik penyuluh pertanian swadaya memiliki tingkat kontribusi yang tinggi karena tergambarkan dari posisinya di masyarakat, usia, pengalaman organisasi dan altruisme (empati, peduli) yang tinggi. Sedangkan faktor-faktor pendukung kinerja penyuluh pertanian swadaya juga memiliki kontribusi tinggi terhadap regenerasi pelaku pertanian.
