PERSEPSI PETANI TENTANG KEPENTINGAN DAN KINERJA PENYULUH PERTANIAN TERHADAP AGROPRODUKSI TANAMAN PADI (Oryza sativa L.) MELALUI System Rice of Intensification (SRI)
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi petani tentang kepentingan dan kinerja penyuluh pertanian terhadap agroproduksi tanaman padi (Oryza sativa) melalui System Rice of Intensification (SRI). Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai bulan Maret sampai dengan Mei 2007.di Kecamatan Cibatu Kabupaten Garut, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Pengumpulan data primer diperoleh melalui interview, wawancara dan penyebaran kuesioner terhadap 48 responden. sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari instansi terkait. Metode analisis data menggunakan Importance Performance Analysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 4 variabel yang berada pada kuadran A yang berarti penting bagi petani dan tingkat kinerja penyuluh tinggi (baik) sehingga harus tetap dipertahankan. Variabel tersebut adalah penyiapan bahan tanam, pengolahan tanah, penanaman dan pemeliharaan. Sebanyak 2 variabel terdapat pada kuadran C yang berarti tidak penting bagi petani dan kinerja penyuluh rendah, ini merupakan kinerja yang harus ditingkatkan lagi sehingga dapat menyakinkan petani bahwa semua kegiatan yang dilakukan penting.
